Sports Bras For Large Breasts Reviews

Wacoal Women’s Underwire Sport Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Nylon, Spandex
  • Closure: Slide-and-Hook
  • Underwire: Yes
  • Sizes: 32C to 42DDD

Wacoal focuses on working with your body, not the other way around. That’s a huge reason why we loved their Women’s Underwire Sport Bra.

The model is nice to look at, and even nicer to wear. Coming in sizes all the way from 32C to 42DDD, they cover a wide range to make sure you have the perfect fit.

Adding on to their versatility, is their 24 different color options, from “Surf the Web”, to “Teaberry”, to your classic Black. Whatever you choose, at least you know you can find something that goes with your workout top.

The underwire is there to provide maximum support during high-impact activities, made to never fail. While that may be great for some, they’ve also added in cups with a hidden inner sling to help contain and add extra support in G and H cup sizes.

However, support isn’t going to be of much help if the bra isn’t comfortable. Thankfully, this one features super plush fabric which actually feels nice against the skin.

The underwire doesn’t dig in nor chafe, thanks to the smart thinking of putting it on the outside.

Since the fabric isn’t thin and flimsy like so many others, its moisture-wicking properties were more than welcome. The mesh back aids with the design, keeping skin cool and airflow constant.

Finally, the close-set back straps are perfectly placed to give you max comfort and support, all at once. With slide-and-hook adjustments, you can change it up whenever and however you’d like.

It’s reasonably priced and our Editor’s Choice as the best sports bra for large breasts!

FITTIN Racerback Sports Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Nylon, Spandex
  • Closure: Pull-On
  • Underwire: No
  • Sizes: S to XXL

Perhaps you’re specifically looking for a high-quality sports bra, but you’re on a tight budget. If so, then give the FITTIN Racerback a look, which is surprisingly inexpensive.

Each color is on-trend, and you can select from: Black, White, Red, Atrovirens, Blue, Grey, or Coral Red.

Sizing isn’t quite as ample with this model, ranging from Small (30A – 32C) to XXL (38DD to 44DD), but if it works with your body, your wallet won’t regret it.

There isn’t necessarily a “closure” due to the fact that it’s a pullover-style racerback. However, it’s nice to know that there’s no way of it coming undone, and it also comes completely seamless to eliminate irritation and chafing.

While the lack of a wire may not provide enough support for some, it does make for an overall more comfortable and freeing model. The racerback is also made to give you the widest range of movement possible so you never feel restricted.

Climacool fabric is used to move heat and moisture away from your body, allowing for an easy escape through proper ventilation throughout the design.

The fabric itself if quite soft, though a bit less luxurious feeling than the previous product. They also come with removeable pads which you can use at your discretion and is the best sports bra for big busts at a very reasonable price!

Panache Women’s Underwire Sports Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Polyamide, Polyester, Elastane
  • Closure: Hook-and-Eye
  • Underwire: Yes
  • Sizes: 28D – 40H

Hands-down, the most attractive, eye-catching design has to come from Panache, with their Underwire Sports Bra.

We won’t list all 28 colors, but here are a few that really stood out: Animal Print, Abstract Ice, Cosmic, Pink Marl, Lime/Cobalt, and regular Black.

Whether you’d like to wear them alone or with a top over, the large variety will give you something that suits your taste.

The Panache Sports Bra does cost a pretty penny, but it’s more than worth it due to how long it lasts and how well it performs.

Scientifically proven to reduce bounce by up to a whopping 83%, you can feel in control of your body. However, you’ll never feel squished or restrained, not compressing like the majority of sports bras.

Rather, the model works to encapsulate and support, with smooth, contoured inner cups.

At this point, you may be wondering how comfortable the underwire is. As it’s wrapped in supple silicone and fabric layers, you won’t even feel it!

The underband is very supportive as well, staying snug but never too tight and actually helps relieve some of the stress on your shoulders and for this reason is one of the best sports bras for a large chest.

Glamorise Full Figure MagicLift Seamless Sports Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Polyester, Elastane
  • Closure: Hook-and-Eye
  • Underwire: No
  • Sizes: 34B – 50I

Next up, we have the Glamorise Women’s Full Figure MagicLift, which is our go-to for larger busts.

Ranging in sizes from 34B to 50I, it accommodates the vast majority of wearers, while providing you with style and security. The brand has over 100 years in the field, so they’ve had quite a bit of time to hone their art.

This design comes in four essential colors: Black, White, Café, and Pink. With this range, you should be able to find just the one to suit your wardrobe.

Comprised of both polyester and elastane, the material is made to be durable, with just enough stretch to ensure you’re comfortable.

In addition, it wicks sweat away, and dries quickly so you can go to the grocery store or run other errands after without feeling muggy.

Comfort and support is such a hard combination to find these days, but we were able to find it in the Full Figure Sports Bra.

The two-way back stretch design works so it’s not pulling up or to the sides, but rather with your body as it moves.

Adjustable hook-and-eye closures feature a thick padding around it so as to not rub against your skin, while the wide, padded straps disperse weight evenly for less pain.

This is one the best sports bra for big boobs without wires that gave the support needed. Rather, they’ve meticulously stitched and added in reinforced cups to give you lift and medium impact support.

SYROKAN provides us with another excellent budget product, unique in its looks and functionality.

Coming in sizes 34D to 46D, there’s a good variety, although we would’ve liked to see a bit more. Choosing your color should be easy, as they only offer Black and Beige, but those are the essentials, anyway.

The full-coverage design gives you maximum security and bounce control so you can work out without worry or discomfort.

The cups are lightly-padded and contoured, which work to provide a flattering shape under any kind of top. Made of polyamide and spandex, the bra is nice and sturdy, with just a bit of give in high-impact situations.

To prevent them from digging into your shoulders, the straps are not only adjustable, but lined and soft against the skin.

Rather than be straight up and down like most, they cross to evenly distribute the weight across your upper body while making sure they don’t slide off your shoulders. The closure is interesting, but made with performance in mind.

The strap slides, so you can easily adjust without feeling like your shoulder is coming out of its socket, and it closes with sturdy Velcro. The SYROKAN is our top pick for the best sports bra for large breasts for high impact workouts.

Le Mystere Women’s Mid-Impact Unlined Sport Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Nylon, Spandex, Mesh
  • Closure: Hook-and-Eye
  • Underwire: Yes
  • Sizes: 30C – 30G

Do you love the comfort and support that sports bras provide, but don’t love how they look? Then keep on reading, because Le Mystere Mid-Impact Sport Bra fits exactly that description.

Coming in either Natural or Black, you don’t have a lot to choose from regarding colors, but with size, that’s a different story.

The bra is designed to encapsulate to give you excellent individual support and shape, while compressing to provide a high level of control and reducing bust line up to 2 inches.

The frame which helps contour is actually quite comfortable, working with your body instead of digging into it. Even the sides help smooth any bulging, with their 2-ply wing design and power mesh which allows for easy airflow.

Made of nylon and spandex, the model is quite lightweight, smooth, and a bit stretchy to allow for freedom of movement.

Padded, adjustable straps also work to help with this, maximizing support so you can take on the world. It may not be the most visually attractive design we’ve seen, but it gets the job done, and it does it well.

If you’re looking for the best sports bra for large bust, we can’t recommend this one enough.

Reebok Puremove Bra at a Glance:

  • Fabric: Nylon, Spandex
  • Closure: Pullover
  • Underwire: No
  • Sizes: X-Small – XXL

Last but certainly not least, we have the Reebok Puremove Bra. Reebok has always been known to try and cater to a varied audience, and we appreciated their variety in sizing as well.

At first glance, you can see how modern and trendy their design is, coming in plain Black, an orange Carotene, and Cold Grey with Red.

Motion Sense technology-treated fabric provides responsive support that adjusts depending on how heavy of an impact your movements are making.

If you’re just going on a simple walk, then the control won’t be as high, as opposed to if you were doing box jumps for example.

The nylon/spandex combo is soft and stretchy enough to allow for some flexibility while never giving out on you. With breathable perforations all around, you’ll feel cool and dry even during the most intense workout sessions.

While it gives a cool futuristic look, the free cut edges also serve to sit snug against your skin while never digging in or causing discomfort.

While it does give more than adequate support, it never squishes and compresses to an un unnatural-looking shape. Rather, the molded front panel will enhance the shape you already have.

How to Choose the Best Workout Bras For Large Breasts

best sports bra for big bustWe know that choosing a workout bra for large breasts is a very personal matter, and the process isn’t often an easy one.

However, we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you by writing up the buying guide, below. It details each feature to look at before making your decision, to ensure you’re getting the perfect product for your body, taste, and lifestyle.

You could have the perfectly-engineered bra, but if it doesn’t have the right fabric you’re never going to wear it.

Polyester is a durable, strong fabric made to provide excellent support and gives minimal stretch. That means that your bras won’t get all stretched out after just a few workouts. It’s often a bit scratchy/rough, which is why it usually comes blended with another material.

Nylon is also quite durable, but not as much as the former. It’s typically quite soft, and allows for minimal stretching.

Spandex is great for compressing, but also allows a good amount of stretch to bring comfortability and mobility. Now, how many layers a bra have will vary independently of the type of fabric(s) you choose.

Some have multiple layers which creates a more plush, luxurious feel against the skin. That’s ideal for some, while others like theirs as thin as possible. It’s ultimately up to your own personal preferences.

When you’re wearing an intimate piece of sportwear, or any in fact, you need adequate ventilation. Sweat and body heat can easily get trapped and all of a sudden make it feel like you’re exercising in the middle of a swamp.

Not even Army Rangers want that! Most quality models will feature some holes or mesh throughout the bra, and it’s even better if it’s made of moisture wicking material to move sweat away from the skin.

You probably wouldn’t be here if you weren’t looking support, right? However, support is a kind of broad term, comprised of various aspects.

Shoulder Straps

Some sports bra for big busts on our guide feature independent straps, while others have racerbacks. Racerbacks often distribute weight across the shoulders better than regular up-and-down straps.

However, racerbacks are often pullover-only styles which many find difficult or inconvenient. A nice meeting point are those that have straps that can be adjusted to be crisscross which also provide more freedom of movement.

Some come with straps with adjustments, and some without. Slide adjustments are not designed to withstand heavy impact, so we recommend those without them.

The band which goes around you, under the cups, is actually responsible for managing the vast majority of support. This works to take a bit of stress off your shoulders and keeping the bra in place while you’re working out.

You don’t want it to dig into the skin, but you do want it to be firm and snug. Ideally, it will be a bit thicker than the rest of the bra, feeling supple and soft to the touch.

The closure type is also important, as we briefly mentioned earlier. The most common type are back clasps, such as hook-and-eye closures. These are what we’d recommend, above anything else. The reason why, is because they’re ultimately the most secure.

It takes a lot to unclasp them while working out or doing pretty much anything aside from purposefully unclasping it yourself. In addition, you can actually adjust them so you get the best fit possible, and they’re not hard to take off after a challenging shoulder workout.

Types of Workout Bras

As you read above, there are actually three different general types of sports bra for bigger breasts. Let’s take a look at each and determine which is right for you.

best workout bra for large chest

Compression Bras

These, as one may guess, compress and hold your breasts in place, or pushing them against your body. While it obviously works, they can also be quite uncomfortable by chafing the skin. What’s more, is that the look they give is very unnatural and unseparated.

Encapsulation Bras

These are just about the exact opposite of compression bras, as they feature a cup for each breast. This gives you natural-looking and natural-feeling separation which is ideal for most women. They do, however, usually come with an underwire which is not for everyone.

Some feel underwires are painful or just uncomfortable, but most on our guide will have a silicone coating or thick fabric to avoid this.

Encapsulation/Compression Bras

We think they probably could’ve come up with a more unique name for this type, but we have to say it’s a favorite for many.

This bra features both compression and encapsulation styles, so you get separation and shape with control in every aspect. These are ideal if you have a cup size of DD+. These will also tend to have underwires, but not always.

Usually we would recommend having a solid budget in mind before you start shopping, and sticking to that number. However, in the case of sports bras, it’s better to not skimp out and spend a bit more than you may be used to.

Good bras for big busts are often a bit more expensive, but we can promise they’re worth it. When you go up in price, durability also tends to greatly extend. This is where you’ll get high-tech features like Reebok’s Motion Sense Fabric, more luxurious fabrics, and better engineering overall.

FAQs About Workout Bras For Large Breasts

Q: What level of support do I need?

A: This will depend on your cup size, and what kind of workouts you’re doing.

  1. Low Impact: These are used for very low-impact exercises such as stretching, walking, and yoga. In fact, you’ll see these often marketed as “yoga bras”, and often look similar to a crop top. They’ll usually be made with thinner material as a high amount of elasticity and support isn’t required.
  2. Medium Impact: If you have a DD cup or below and would like to use these for running, they should give you enough control and support with no pain or discomfort. They give a good amount of stretch, but the fabric’s usually thicker than the former.
  3. High Impact: These are ideal for running, jumping, and extreme sports. The material is often barely stretchy, thicker, and features supportive seams and overlays to add to durability. Sometimes they’ll come with underwires, but just as often, will come without them.

Q: Why does my workout bra chafe me all of a sudden?

A: If your bra never did this before, it’s probably a sign that the elastic has started to wear out. This can also happen, however, if you’re doing marathon running with the combination of extensive movement over moist skin from sweat.

Q: If I’m pregnant or breastfeeding, which bra should I get?

A: You’ll want the max amount of support you can get. Keep in mind your cup size will vary quite a bit throughout, so getting one that’s adjustable can help you save some money. Also, encapsulation bras are more desirable as they’re not compressing and potentially causing pain by increasing pressure.

Tips For Wearing Your Sports Bra

#1: If your bra has begun to chafe your skin, first try tightening the rear clasp by a notch

This happens to many when they begin a workout routine and start to lose weight, finding that their bra gets looser. In contrast, if it’s the first time you’re wearing it and it’s chafing you it may just be because it needs to get broken in a bit.

#2: To lengthen the life of your bra, never put it through tumble dry

The high levels of heat will ruin the fabric, slowly disintegrating it which will stretch and thin it out. Try hand-washing, or at the very least, putting them in a bag in the washing machine.

#3: You should be able to place two fingers under the shoulder straps

If you can’t, it’s going to be much too tight for you, which will undoubtedly dig into your skin and cause discomfort. If they’re too loose, they’re not going to give you the support you need, and even slip off while you’re exercising.

#4: Say “no” to wrinkles and gaps.

Both of these are indicators that your bra is too big. All underwire should lay flush against the rib cage without causing discomfort, and the fabric of the cups should always be smooth.
